ABOUT US
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe we have created something truly unique and redefined what a surf holiday can be.
In 2015, driven by a love for the Algarve and a passion for surfing, we opened our first surf camp. After four years of running courses, we realized that surf coaching could be more personalised, engaging, and transformational.
We took a year to rethink everything — from coaching methods and learning tools to our facilities and approach to hospitality. In 2020, Tiny Whale relaunched with a team of expert surf coaches, a comprehensive library of techniques, our Surfer’s Handbook, and a brand-new lodge designed for comfort, focus, and restorative downtime.
Since then, watching our guests grow, gain confidence, and achieve their goals has confirmed that we’ve created something truly different: a surf experience that combines personal progress, supportive coaching, and a beautiful, luxurious setting.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
During the nine years that we’ve been open, the worlds more rapidly been moving towards more sustainable practices. We’re moving to tread more lightly and whilst we recognize we’re a small drop in the ocean and far from perfect, we want to stand up and make the small changes we can.

Ofsetting your flights carbon
- Flying contributes significantly to carbon emissions during holidays. Fortunately, there are initiatives to offset this impact. Consider donating to: www.co2.myclimate.org or www.flygrn.com
- On a brighter note, hydrogen-powered flights are emerging, with predictions that by 2035, many short-haul flights will operate on hydrogen, producing only water as waste.
Meatless Mondays
- We’ve removed meat from from our menu to help reduce our CO2 footprint. We’re confident you won’t notice the difference and we challenge you not to be blown away by some of our veggie dishes
